It seems only the ui-report%.html is used for display. While the accompanying XML file containing a lot of detailed information, e.g., metrics, individual findings at record row level, it is not really being used. I tried opening the XML file using both Firefox 3 and IE 6, but only to see the identical result to the HTML file. Any thoughts? Is this by design for Alpha?
Hi Tony,
The HTML file is just the output of an XSL transformation on on the XML log file. Because Internet Explorer had significant performance issues while performing the transformations on larger log files, we opted to generate a HTML file that would be more responsive when it came to viewing.
That being said, the current method by which the reports are generated and displayed is set to change in future releases (likely starting with Beta), based on feedback from the community and the intended project direction. Currently the report is fairly rudimentary, especially when it comes to the data provided in the user-friendly view.
Regards,
Tim
