Forums: Troubleshooting and Problems
Hi Ajay,
Sorry for the late response.
VDI is not supported yet as it is a shared installation.
We are working on custom installation paths and shared installation folders, so support for such environments is planned for the next Community update.
Thanks,
Philipp
Thanks Philipp....this is helpful.
Another query: My impression is for custom installation also we need to have the Pinnacle21 ID to get the latest CTs, right?
Yes, Pinnacle ID is required for getting CT and dictionary updates automatically. It also allows you to access any older versions (by default you get only 5 versions that were latest at the moment of app release).
Thanks,
Philipp
Hi there,
Given the en masse move to remote work brought on by the pandemic, many of my colleagues now work in a VDI environment. This has been a serious impediment as having any amount of sponsor/client data on a local/personal machine, like a Pinnacle21 validation report is a no-no. The end result is my colleagues need to re-install Pinnacle21 within their VDI on a regular basis and is a major frustration with your product. I hope this is addressed as soon as possible. I still use remote desktop protocols to my office machine, so I've been spared this headache to date.

Hello Daniel,
Community 3.1.0 update was released. It supports custom installation paths and shared installation folders.
It also allows users to configure the reports folder location.
You can get this update via auto-update or download it here:
https://www.pinnacle21.com/downloads
Please try the system-wide installation and let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Philipp
Hi,
I was wondering if Pinnacle21 Community v3.0 installation is supported under VDI environment? How?
We have a VDI environment and we are trying to figure out how we can install P21 v3.0 efficiently . From FAQ, I figure that portable version is no longer available for v3.0.
Any guidance is helpful!
Thanks
