Forums: Troubleshooting and Problems
Hi Maryse,
Without internet connection you disable Auto-Update functionality. For example, only few versions of recent CDISC CT are deployed during software installation process. However, all previous versions of CT are available in validation configuration. If you chose version which is still not deployed yet on your computer, then Auto-Update functionality will upload it when you start validation.
Another example of Auto-Update functionality is adding new versions of CT and validation configurations like support of new standards and rules to keep you up-to-date with FDA, PMDA and NMPA requirements. Patches for fixing application bugs is another example.
MedDRA and SNOMED are proprietary dictionaries we are not allowed to distribute. Users need to install them using their own MedDRA/SNOMED license and files. Therefore, it is not a part of Auto-Update functionality. There is no impact of internet connection to MedDRA and SNOMED.
Kind Regards,
Sergiy
Dear Pinnacle21 Team,
I'm using the pinnacle21 community 3.1.0 in order to generate the validator report.
Last month, I worked with the IT team to fix the issue: "No internet connection"
Unfortunately, the Cloudfront IP address list that you provided is not helping much since it's very vast and our Security team won't allow them all on the firewall.
Even if I have this error, a report is generated. So I was wondering, what would the internet connection adds to the process? Could you please advise what is the risk to generate a report without an internet connection?
Same question for MedDRA and SNOMED configurations. What impact it could have to run the validator without installing these configurations?
Kind regards,
