Forums: Troubleshooting and Problems
can you let me know which version of OpenCDISC Validator you are using?
Thaniks we will look into this. We are planning on releasing 1.4.1 very soon. That may address the issue.
Any of resolution timelines? Are there plans to release a new version with this issue fixed and if so, by when?
We are just starting using OpenCDISC. What is the latest version for which this issue is not encountered?
Thanks,
We do have this on our radar to be fixed. Once i get more definitive timelines, i will share. My understanding is this only an issue with SPLIT datasets when the domain is very large. Be sure to trim the lenghts of your variables to an appropriate amount (i.e. don't set domain to 255). In some cases, setting the appropriate lengths could be the difference between having to split a file over 1 GB.
Hi,
Apologies...just to confirm I'm talking about the same issue.
We have the same behaviour for finding about domains - is that the same than SPLIT domains? We are validating a domain named 'FACE' and get the error / issue described in this ticket. If we rename the '.xpt' to 'FA', then it validates OK, whether from UI or CLI. We have the same issues on any other finding domains.
Can you confirm this is the same?
Thanks for your help and support.
Hi!
Yes. Technically speaking, FA is a split domain.

Sergiy
When we verify our XPT files (with or without define.xml) we get a different OpenCDISC.xls file when we run it from the command prompt (CLI usage) then when we use the Graphical User Interface (GUI).
Further investigation learns us that is has to do with split domains.
The GUI is ok: it looks like it concatenates the LB01 and LB02 split domains and then executed the checks
The CLI gives us errors like LB01 and LB02 are unrecognized domains. And in CO domain it says that RDOMAIN=LB is invalid. Same for SUPPLB01, SUPPLB02. And that domain LB is missing.
Is this a kind of bug? Does the CLI works indeed different then the GUI? I expected the same reports.
Thanks for any input on this.
