Transforming File specs into SAS Files for testing

We work with vendors to generate the SDTM datasets we need. First we work on the specifications. Has anyone had experience with converting file specs from Excel into SAS and then checking the results with Open CDISC? This seems like it should be possible without incredible efforts.

Could you be more specific about your needs? What exactly do you plan to create from file transformation specs and then check?

E.g., 1. Define file; 2. Zero observation datasets., etc.?

Is it possible to ...

Ideally we would like to see if it is possible to create a single row of data from the file specs and check the basic SDTM structure that is contained / defined by the specs.
