The documentation for the use of terminology files at:

http://www.opencdisc.org/configuring-opencdisc-validator-cdisc-controlled-terminology

refers to OpenCDISC v1.4 and shows examples of CT .txt files stored in Config/Data/CDISC/SDTM.  However, the actual installation of OpenCDISC Community 2.0 contains .odm.xml files in these locations.

(1) Does OpenCDISC Community require .odm.xml files, or can it also handle text files?

(2) In the installed locations, all the QS files from older releases have been renamed to begin with QS-FT to match the change for the 2014-09-26 CT release.  But with the 2014-12-19 release the filename was again changed to begin with COA.  Am I correct that for the time being the COA file should be renamed to "QS-FT"?  And is there a plan, going forward, to recognize the files under the "COA" name?

It would be useful for the online documentation to be updated to reflect these changes and document any cases where we may need to rename the standard CT files that are downloaded.

Hi Dave,

OpenCDISC Community 2.0 uses CDISC CT in ODM format files. New versions of CT will be provided by OpenCDISC through Auto-Update functionality. It includes recent new Questionnaire CT (COA).

Documentation on website is for v1.xx. only.

Sergiy

Two things...

First, is there a way to force a copy of OpenCDISC Community to check for and apply updates?  The copy I downloaded today does not have the 2014-12-19 CT release, so I need to either install it manually or force the application to update itself.

Second, in the OpenCDISC Community 2.0 application, choosing Help... OpenCDISC Community Documentation from the menu brings up the website documentation that you say is for v1.xx.  Is there another location for v2.0 documentation that it should point to?  It seems odd that the application itself links to the wrong documentation.

This still leaves me with two questions...

First, is there a way to guarantee that the application has updated to include all resources that have been pushed?  It would be good to know that it's up to date.

Second, what is the timeframe within which things like new CT releases will be pushed out?  The 2014-12-19 CT release is a month and a half old--almost halfway to being supplanted by a new version--and it did not appear in the copy of OpenCDISC Community that I downloaded yesterday.

Hi Dave,

Please be patient. OpenCDISC Community is actually a completely new tool. There are many implementation challenges which delay the first Auto-Update push. While adding a new CT version is a simple task, currently our priority is to fix identified bugs and refine the whole process. You can expect more quick response on new versions of CT soon.

Please keep in mind that OpenCDISC Community is a free application. If your company has some specific urgent needs you can contact Pinnacle 21 for commercial support. It will be also beneficial for the community by providing additional resources for our open source project.

Kind Regards,

Sergiy
